De-Domains pass the Watermark of 15 Million

(pressebox) Koeln, 28.04.2012 - DENIC, the registry of the German Top Level Domain (TLD) has announced, that it has received the 15 millionth application for the registration of a de-domain. "Its flowery name: floristennetzwerk.de, which means florists' network. 'With my website I want to provide a purchasing portal for florists to order flowers and plants, avoiding the usual channels via intermediaries. I am a qualified florist myself and can build on 30 years of experience. And since I want to reach the green trade in Germany with my offer, it was clear to me that I needed a domain under .de. I have the most beautiful profession in the world. Flowers make people smile and are the only product that does not really need any marketing.' says the domain holder Alexander Kleerebezem."

The de-domain has the position as the world’s favourite Country Code TLD, ahead of .uk. The de-domains are also numerically stronger than nearly all the generic Top Level Domains that are used throughout the world, such as .org, .net, .info and .biz. Only one, the com-domain, with almost 103 million domains is more often registered than the de-domain.

DENIC is a cooperative with 200 members, who have registered these 11 million de-domains. One of the members is ICANN accredited registrar Secura, owner of the website domainregistry.de.

Visitors, who come to the website http://www.domainregistry.de/deleted-de-domains.html of DENIC member and ICANN accredited Registrar Secura, will have a big surprise: They can watch live the deletions of de-domains. The CEO of Secura, Hans-Peter Oswald, explains:" It's almost like domain television.You see live, how de-domains are going to become free for registration . You see at once in real time all de-domains, which have been deleted by the German Registry, the DENIC."

Then comes the next surprise. If you click at the deleted de-domain, you can order it at once.

The next surprise after this is: There is a second list at http://www.domainregistry.de/deleted-de-domains-mit-page-rank.html with deleted de-domains, which have a Pagerank equal or greater as "1". The pagerank shows how easy it is in the web to meet a website. The algorithm of the pagerank was created by Google Founder Larry Page, therefore the name "Pagerank".

The de-domain is not totally liberalized, as it seems. Foreign companies and individuals can register also de-domains and sell products and services to the attractive German market by websites, but they must have a German Admin-C. DENIC-Member and ICANN accredited registrar Secura provides automatically this German Admin-C during the registration process.
