Geschützten Dateien auf einer CD bestimmte Einstellungen vorgeben?

Hallo.
Hab vor kurzem im Inet das Spiel Toonstruck wieder entdeckt, falls es jemandem ein Begriff ist.
Wollte dann nach dieser Anleitung (draufklicken) vorgehen, um es wieder zum laufen zu bringen, stoße jedoch auf ein Problem..

Wenn ich bei der setup.exe der CD diese Einstellungen wie im Tutorial angegeben vornehme, bekomme ich folgenden Fehler:

Hat jemand ne Idee, wie ich das machen soll? Beim Autor des Tutorials scheint es problemlos funktioniert zu haben.


Und noch zur Info: Ich besitze das Spiel natürlich im Original, aber ich bitte mich nicht zu steinigen, wenn es nach ~10 Jahren aufgrund der vielen Kratzer nicht mehr funktionstüchtig ist.

Die Anleitung in allen Ehren, aber einfacher dürfte es wohl sein gleich die Dos Box zu verwenden (auch wenn der gute mensch, der die anleitung geschrieben hat, stolz darauf ist, sie nicht zu benötigen).

Für nicht ganz so versierte Anwender soll das ebenfalls auf dieser Seite angebotene D-Fend bzw. D-Fend Reloaded (beides enthält wohl schon die DosBox) wohl besser verständlich sein (eine Art grafische Oberfläche und nicht kommandozeilen-basiert), habs aber selbst noch nicht getestet^^

Die DosBox selbst funktioniert aber einwandfrei.

Toonstruck war im Übrigen auch eines meiner Lieblingsspiele

Hm, hab da zwar auch ne Anleitung gefunden, aber irgendwie nicht hinbekommen.

Ich probiers jetzt mit einem virtuellen PC und Windows 98 drauf.
Mal sehen, ob das klappt.

Hmpf... bei Windows 98 SE hat es mit der Grafik was.. wenn ich starte bekomm ich nur dauernd nen schwarzen Bildschirm.

Ich probiers jetzt nochmal mit DOS-Box.
Könnte mir da eventuell kurz wer helfen? Wär supernett, hab das Programm noch nie benutzt.

How to play Toonstruck in Windows XP


1. Install IsoBuster 2.2 if it is not already installed on your computer.

2. Open 'Toonstruck.English.CD1.iso' with IsoBuster, right-click the small red ISO box and click 'Extract -' and when asked for a location, just select the Desktop. This should extract all the files in the image to a folder on the Desktop (named '-').


3. Open 'Toonstruck.English.CD2.iso' and again, right-click the small red ISO box and click 'Extract -' and select the Desktop. A window will open to say 'File already exists'. Tick 'Yes to All' and click 'Yes. The files you overwrite are exactly the same on both images, so there is no need to worry. Once extracted, you will have the content of both CDs in one folder.


4. Rename the folder 'Toonstruck' and move it to 'C:' (where Program Files and Windows is located).


5. Install DOSBox 0.72 if it is not already installed on your computer.

6. Go to: Start > All Programs > DOSBox-0.72 > 'DOSBox.conf'. The file should open in Notepad.

If it doesn't, go to: My Computer > C: > Program Files > DOSBox-0.72
Right-click 'dosbox.conf'.
Click 'Properties'.
Next to 'Opens with', click 'Change...'.
Select 'Notepad'.
Click 'OK' then 'OK'.
Go back to: Start > All Programs > DOSBox-0.72 > 'DOSBox.conf'.


7. Copy all of the following text (in-between the lines).

Go back to the 'DOSBox.conf' window and press 'Ctrl+A' to highlight all the text. Press 'Ctrl+V' to paste the new text over the original. Save the file, but don't close the window yet.


8. Run 'DOSBox 0.72'. It should load a DOS based installer entitled 'ToonStruck Installation Program'.


9. Press the 'Down' arrow twice to highlight 'Install ToonStruck' and press 'Enter' to install the game.


10. Next you'll want to configure the sound and video.


On 'Configure Sound', press 'Enter'.
On 'Start Sound Setup', press 'Enter'.
Select 'Manual' and press 'Enter', select 'Sound Blaster' and press 'Enter' 4 times.
On 'Test Settings', press 'Enter'.

Hopefully you will heard a clear spoken (creepy) voice: 'Welcome to Toonstruck...'.

If you don't then go back to 'Start Sound Setup', select 'Automatic' and test again.
If there is still no sound or it is distorted etc. use trial and error to find a combination that works.

Press the 'Down' arrow to 'Exit Sound Setup' and press 'Enter'.


On 'Configure Video', press 'Enter'.
On 'Start Video Setup', press 'Enter'.
Select 'OK' to everything, following the instructions as they come.
You should eventually see a clear, colour image. Press any key to continue.
On 'Exit Video Setup', press 'Enter' and on 'Exit Installation', press 'Enter'.


11. To play Toonstruck right now, type 'toonstrk' and press 'Enter'.
To carry on with these instructions so that you can play the game at any time, type 'exit' and press 'Enter'.


12. Go back to the 'DOSBox.conf' window, and replace the text:

13. Now to play the game, just run DOSBox again.

To exit the game, press F5 (you may save your progress) and click 'QUIT'. It will take to back to the DOS screen, type 'exit' then press 'Enter'.

Problem ist aber, ich hab auf C keinen freien Speicher mehr..

Die Dateien habe ich im Ordner I:\toonstruck
Das Spiel möchte ich dann gerne hininstallieren nach F:\toonstruck

Was genau muss ich da oben ändern? Blick da leider gar nicht durch, da der Anleitungsschreiber auch auf einmal ein Laufwerk F hat und irgendnen Ordner namens C:\ULTRASND

Also alles unter [autoexec] steht wird beim Start der DosBox sofort ausgeführt.

Hier wird also folgendes getan:
In der ersten Zeile wird dein Laufwerk C:\ einem "Laufwerk" C innerhalb der DosBox zugewiesen. In der zweiten Zeile passiert das gleiche mit F und einem Verzeichnis von dir. Das heisst sobald du innerhalb der DosBox F: eingibst befindest du dich in C:\Toonstruck auf deiner Festplatte. F existiert dabei natürlich nur "virtuell" und nicht auf deiner Platte.
Mit diesem Stückchen "Code" wird also beim Start der DosBox die Install.bat aus deinem Ordner C:\Toonstruck ausgeführt - was die Installation startet.
Wenn du das alles weglässt müsstest du in der DosBox halt selbst mounten und die install.bat ausführen. (einfach obigen Code eingeben)

In deinem Fall müsstest du C:\Toonstruck durch I:\Toonstruck ersetzen (und C:\ durch I:\ in der Zeile darüber).

Hier wird im Prinzip fast das gleiche gemacht, nur das am ende eine andere datei ausgeführt wird, wobei zuvor dafür das Verzeichnis gewechselt wird (CD = Change Directory).
Was mir hier nicht einleuchtet ist MOUNT F C:\Toonstruck -t cdrom
Ansich bedeutet diese Zeile, dass du dein CD-ROM Laufwerk (welches hier "C:\Toonstruck" wäre) auf dein "imaginäres" Laufwerk F mountest. Die Daten liegen ja aber nicht mehr auf der CD selbst, sondern in C:\Toonstruck (bei dir: I:\Toonstruck), wesshalb es mich wundert warum er "-t cdrom" dranhängt. Das müsste man ja eigentlich nur tun wenn es tatsächlich dein CD-Laufwerk ist und dieses unterstützt werden soll...anyway, probiers einfach mal aus.

Dein Code würde dann lauten:

wenn mich jetzt nicht alles täuscht

Die Frage nach dem Ziel der Installation kann ich dir aber leider nicht beantworten, musst du wohl einfach mal ausprobieren :-|
