Russia introduces fines for the popular worldwide Bitcoin

Penalties for Russian citizens for the issue of “money substitutes”, including cryptocurrency, can range from 30 to 50 thousand rubles for officials – from 60 to 100 thousand rubles for legal entities – from 0.5 million to 1 million. This information is contained in the draft amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation, prepared by the Ministry of Finance.

According to the amendments, transactions with “money substitutes” punishable by an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 5 thousand. To 50 thousand. Rubles; on officials – from 20 thousand. rubles up to 100 thousand. rubles; on legal entities – from 0.5 million to 1 million. The same Finance Ministry proposes to introduce penalties for the intentional distribution of information that permits the release of “money substitutes” and  operations with their use.
“The introduction of the Russian Federation of other monetary units and release (emission) of objects of property rights, including in electronic form, used as a means of payment and (or) exchange and not directly by the federal law … as well as operations with the use of money substitutes is forbidden “- the document says.
