The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack ist eine kraftvolle, emotionale Reise durch die letzten Tage der Ära der amerikanischen Outlaws und wurde vom elfmaligen Grammy-Award-Gewinner Daniel Lanois produziert. Die gesamte Musik wurde dabei exklusiv für das Spiel komponiert. Lanois ist bekannt durch seine Arbeit mit Bob Dylan, Neil Young und Willie Nelson sowie seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem wegweisenden Musiker Brian Eno, mit dem er einige Alben für U2 produzierte – darunter auch die mehrfach mit Platin ausgezeichnete LP „The Joshua Tree“
“Red Dead Redemption 2 provided a terrific compositional space, vast and covering a range of emotional textures – a real place for my imagination to run wild,” sagt Lanois. “From recording with Rhiannon Giddens in Nashville, to New Orleans with my friend Cyril Neville, to New York City with D’Angelo, to Willie Nelson and Josh Homme, the inspiration never quit!”
The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack beinhaltet gesangliche Darbietungen preisgekrönter Künstler wie D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Rhiannon Giddens oder Josh Homme sowie einen zusätzlichen Track, der von David Ferguson produziert und eingespielt wurde.
“I had a great time reuniting with Lanois to compose for this project, and I’m incredibly grateful to see how the ‘Crash Of Worlds’ chant has touched the hearts of so many players through the game,” so Komponist Rocco DeLuca.
Das begleitende Album The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Score wurde von Woody Jackson komponiert und erscheint später im Sommer.
